We know this.

 studying cults  + movements,
reverse engineering 7-figure funnels,
and frame-working psychological triggers to understand the difference between regular brands and cult brands.
Lots of doodles and frameworking 
 We were determined to find the secret formula of a Cult Brand that makes customers want to pay and stay and share with their friends.  
There was a ton of theory, books and good thoughts...
But it turned out there weren’t any frameworks or shortcuts that we could actually apply to brands to create predictable preference and brand loyalty

There are only 3 types of brands:

[1]  The “Me” Brands: 
This is a very common one.

This is the “hey look at me” brands.

The business is usually named after them.

They are the hero and the customer should want to buy from them over the competition because look how great they are! 

It's not their fault, they don't know any better... and this used to work really well.

But customers don’t give a shit about you, they give shits about themselves. Lots of them.

So if you’re selling at them, they will eventually disconnect and bounce.

That's not going to give us the staircase revenue we're looking for while sittin' in mexican beach bars.
[2]  The “Me Too” Brands: 
This is the most common.

It’s when someone resells something because they know people are already buying that thing. 

So they spin up a generic brand just enough to hustle a product to the wide web of potential dollar holders. 

But it’s hollow middleman operation that's deficient in meaning.

People already have too many options...

Selling “another option” in a sea of sameness is a waste of time for everyone. 
[3]  The “CULT” Brands: 
Alright, alright!

These are the ones that have that * special something *  you just can’t put your finger on…

And boy do people want it!

They seem to have a siren call  that attracts the right customers while repelling the outsiders. 

They know how to create silly demand. 

Their customers want to wear the brand, share the brand and buy everything they create. 

Price isn’t a problem.

And competition is irrelevant.

They seem to make customers feel like they are on the winning side of history.
